Education is more than educating a child’s mind. Education is about educating the body and character, as well as the mind.

　　Exercise, teamwork, interpersonal skills, and perseverance are all skills and qualities required for success in university and beyond, skills and qualities ALAIS works to instill in its students for their future success as students, leaders, professionals, and good citizens of the world.

　　體育鍛煉、團(tuán)隊(duì)合作、人際交往以及堅(jiān)韌不拔的毅力品格都是學(xué)生未來在大學(xué)及進(jìn)入社會(huì)后獲得成功所需要的，這也是ALAIS一直所致力灌輸給學(xué)生的，希望他們未來成為成功的學(xué)生、領(lǐng)袖、專業(yè)人才以及優(yōu)秀的世界公民。

　　On March 29, 2019, ALAIS led its students and teachers on an experiential education trip to Yangcheng Lake for such an experience – the opportunity to educate the students’ bodies and characters through exercise, team-building, interpersonal skills, and hard work.

　　2019年3月29日，ALAIS全體師生進(jìn)行了一次環(huán)陽(yáng)澄湖徒步體驗(yàn)活動(dòng)，旨在通過活動(dòng)磨煉學(xué)生的意志品質(zhì)、團(tuán)隊(duì)建設(shè)、人際交往以及吃苦耐勞。

　　Throughout the 12 kilometer hike along the shore of Yangcheng Lake, students, divided into teams, participated in team-building activities, competitions, and games, all designed to teach the students these skills and qualities essential for success.

　　全程12公里的環(huán)湖徒步，學(xué)生分為若干小組，進(jìn)行團(tuán)建活動(dòng)、比賽和游戲，所有環(huán)節(jié)的設(shè)計(jì)都是為鍛煉和提升上述品質(zhì)和技能以幫助學(xué)生未來取得成功。

　　Before the trip, as grade 12 Esther described, “I rejected the idea [of the Spring Outing] from my heart.” However, by the end of the event, she added, “the activity helped me understand how important group cooperation is,” that “any single failure from any team member will lead to the failure of the entire group.”

　　活動(dòng)前，12年級(jí)學(xué)生Esther說：“我內(nèi)心是拒絕（這次活動(dòng)）的?！比欢诨顒?dòng)結(jié)束時(shí)，她卻改變了看法，“這次活動(dòng)幫助我認(rèn)識(shí)到了團(tuán)隊(duì)合作的重要性，任何團(tuán)隊(duì)成員個(gè)人的失敗都會(huì)導(dǎo)致整個(gè)團(tuán)隊(duì)的失敗?！?/p>

　　All of these grade 12 students, who will be studying at American universities next year, agreed that the lessons about teamwork they learned in this activity will help them be successful in university and beyond.

　　這些12年級(jí)學(xué)生，都即將進(jìn)入美國(guó)的大學(xué)接受高等教育，他們都一致認(rèn)為通過此次活動(dòng)他們所學(xué)習(xí)到的團(tuán)隊(duì)合作將幫助他們未來進(jìn)入大學(xué)以及走入社會(huì)后取得成功。
